Catalytic Aroma Lamp Instructions
Aroma lamps remove all types of household odors by destroying the odor before perfuming the air. They are made of very fine materials, usually glass or earthenware, with many designs and colors to suit any decor.

They are compatible with many fragrance collections, including our own, and the fragrances are availbale in a wide variety of floral, fruit, spice, confection, and exotic scents. But it is important to remember that these fuels are alcohol based, therefore they are not compatible with petroleum lamps, nor are Aroma Lamps compatible with petroleum based fuels.

Each wick, or burner, should last approximately a year, or 250 ignitions. You can normally tell that you need a new burner when the stone will no longer stay hot or the lamp is no longer putting off a smell.

Fragrances can also be changed as you like. This is done by burning the fragrance you are currently using out of your lamp, then removing the wick/burner and setting it aside on a paper towel to dry. Then, you simply refill your lamp with the new fragrance.

Or, you can go from fragrance to fragrance without drying the wick/burner. The fragrances will merely blend until the new fragrance has taken over. It will not damage your wick. Although, we do recommend using two different wicks if you use both fragrance and essential oils.

Stones, wicks, and lamps can be cleaned by burning our "Neutral" fragrance, or by soaking the wick in a glass container with Neutral overnight.
Finally, for the those who are new to Catalytic Aroma Lamps, we have included a detailed set of instructions to help you get used to using your lamp. Thanks to one of the premier companies in Aroma Lamp production, La Maison, it has never been easier to learn how to use your lamp.

  • Remove the wick from the lamp, and fill the lamp no more than half full with your chosen fragrance. Replace the wick and snuffer cap, and let the wick soak for 30 to 45 minutes.

  • Now, remove the snuffer and safety grille, and light the stone. Let it stay lit for 1 to 2 minutes, then blow it out or snuff it with a candle snuffer. Please, do not leave the flame unattended.

  • Place the safety grille, or ventilated cover, back on the lamp. The lamp will now filter your air. We recommend running it for about an hour. Anything after that point is merely fragrance in the air, not filtering.

  • When done with your lamp, replace the snuffer cap, and refill it if needed. It will be ready to use when you next need it!
